And The Winner Is… Ollie Nield

By Joe Young - Deputy Culture Editor

Transgender Students' Representative Ollie Nield

Next up is Transgender Students’ Representative Ollie Nield, re-elected for a second term in his role.

How do you feel about winning?

I’m very surprised, but I must have been doing something right over the last year. It’s great to know my hard work has paid off.

What is your first priority in your role?

I’m going to continue the battle for gender neutral facilities across the University and its buildings.

How will you know if you’ve succeeded?

Thankfully, I’ll know because the entire student body will be able to see the results of my work – if you can’t see any gender neutral facilities by the end of the year then it’ll be clear I’ve not succeeded.

Do you have anything to say to transgender students who might be unsure of University and the Students’ Union?

Come and find me so we can work through your ideas, thoughts, and feelings on how the University and the Union can better suit you. I can be contacted via email at onield@uclan.ac.uk.
