And The Winner Is… Sam Edwards

By Joe Young - Deputy Culture Editor

LGB Students' Representative-Elect Sam Edwards

Our next interview with a Liberation Representative comes from Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual (LGB) Students’ Representative, Sam Edwards.

How do you feel about winning?

It feels great to represent LGB students and my first priority is to improve awareness and communication between the Students’ Union and LGB students.

What is your first priority in your role?

My first priority is increasing awareness and communication between the LGBT community and the SU.

How will you know if you’ve succeeded?

I will know I have succeeded if when I finish there is a more united LGBT community and that communication between the SU and the wider community improves.

Do you have anything to say to lesbian, gay, and bisexual students who are unsure about university life?

For LGB students who are unsure about uni life I would like to say that there are people there for them, and that if they have issues with university they can always contact me, or someone in the SU, to help them in any way possible and that there is support for them.
