Preston Licensing Committee have approved a 4.30am closing license for a Preston Nightclub, despite Police objections.

Since the closure of its Great Shaw Street premise, Blitz has been relocated to the old site of the Frog and Bucket on Lords Walk.

After the application for a 6am licence was rejected, the club have now been approved to play live music until 3am, serve alcohol until 4am and close at 4.30am.

In the past year two nightclub venues have closed down and the future of a third is currently being decided.

The approval of the Blitz licence is hoped create a positive impact on the night club industry in Preston and help to improve the economy in the Church Street area of the town centre.
