Last night we saw the stars line up on the red carpet ready for the 2015 British Music Awards, and it was a rather eventful night.
Presented by comedy duo Ant and Dec, who have had musical fame in their earlier years, the night kicked off with American pop sensation Taylor Swift opening s with her hit single Blank Space.
Performances came from Sam Smith, Take That, Kanye West and Ed Sheeran. Celebrities from across the pond helped Ant and Dec present the awards over the course of the evening, including Kim Kardashian who introduced Kanye (surprise, surprise) and failed at trying to take a selfie with Ant and Dec. She couldn’t seem to get the camera to work.
Orlando Bloom was also presenting with Rita Ora but the pair seemed to be flirting and stumbling over their lines instead of focusing on the ceremony itself. Comedian Jimmy Car also made an appearance but found himself treading on thin ice after joking about Madonna’s age and sneaking into her dressing room to find “a lot of drugs” then added not to worry because “it’s all HRT stuff”.
Madonna closed the awards with “Living for love” and a dramatic exit. In case you missed it, she fell off the stage due to a wardrobe malfunction.
Thousands took to twitter and posted the video all over social media, but also praised her for continuing with her performance.
Awards went to the following:
Best British Album- Ed Sheeran “X”
Best British Female Solo Artist- Paloma Faith
Best British Male solo Artist- Ed Sheeran
