Comic Con to visit Preston

Comic Con will come to Preston once again this weekend.

A host of sci-fi stars and superheroes will welcome fans this Saturday at Preston Guild Hall.

Last year 2,500 guests attended the first Preston Comic Con, and organiser Darren Wildman is anticipating double that.

“There will be over 70 stalls with everything from cupcakes to high end collectables and T-shirts.

“There will be cosplay competitions with some amazing prizes, and charity auctions in aid of Cash for Kids, Air Ambulance and St Catherine’s Hospice.

“On top of that we are holding a live countrywide Halo Masterchief tournament for gamers, involving a million users!”

Stars from the Hobbit trilogy, the Star Wars Saga, Harry Potter, Doctor Who and Game of Thrones will be at the event. This includesDave Prowse (Darth Vader), Kenny Baker (R2D2), Sylvester McCoy (the 7th Doctor and Radagast the Brown), Adam Brown (Ori), Ian McIlhenney (Ser Barristan Selmy).

They will be signing autographs and available for photoshoots.

Comic and graphic novel enthusiasts can also meet some of the industry’s most famous artists and writers, including Anthony Johnston, New York Times bestselling author of graphic novels.
