CORBYN’S SHADOW CABINET CRISIS – PART NINE

Resigned: Shadow Environment Secretary Kerry McCarthy (Not Pictured)

Kerry McCarthy, Shadow Environment Secretary, is the latest mutineer in the Shadow Cabinet Drama.

McCarthy, Member of Parliament for Bristol East, sits in Parliament to represent the same geographical area as late former MP and long-term Corbyn ally Tony Benn.

Again, posting her resignation on Twitter, McCarthy said:

McCarthy has received a barrage of abuse on social media for her resignation, with users calling her “disgusting”, “backstabber”, “snake in the grass” and one user even going as far to call her a “cancerous whore”. Of all the resignations, hers has provoked one of the strongest reactions, possibly due to her perceived associations with Tony Blair. Her resignation now sets the score at 7-2 to the mutineers.
