Say goodbye to your social life and hello to DisneyLife! That’s right, Disney has announced that they are going to be releasing a streaming service available to all fans across the UK, it is the biggest company yet to directly stream their own content online. Unlike Netflix, DisneyLife will stream books and also music alongside classic films and TV shows; this will give audiences a variety of content to choose from within the Disney brand.
Although Disney own the rights to both the Star Wars and Marvel franchises, these films will not be included within the launch straight away, however Bob Iger (Disney’s Chief Executive) stated that they could expand to possibly include them in the future.
DisneyLife will serve as a challenge to rival other companies such as Netflix and Now TV and even though both already stream Disney films, it is unknown whether they will be taken down. Another plus is that the content will be able available to download offline so fans can watch and listen while away from the internet.
It will come at a cost of £9.99 a month, a bit more expensive than other streaming services, but that’s nothing when families and fans can access hundreds of Disney films, songs and books anytime they like!
