UCLan, final year,Fashion Promotion students have created a Kickstarter, crowdfunding campaign in order to raise £1600.
The students have decided to embark on an innovative crowdfunding method to help them cover the costs of producing a creative brochure to showcase all of their skills gained throughout the four year course.
The brochure will be distributed to prospective employers and at Graduate Fashion Week where industry representatives scout the latest talent.
They have 32 days to raise the £1600 or they won’t receive a penny.
A video has been released on Kickstarter and can be viewed here. The students have just 30 days to raise the desired funds to ensure the production of their brochure which will be key in helping them stand out in such a competitive industry.
Eve Astle, Course Leader expresses her excitement as this is one of the first university courses to be featured on Kickstarter.
“I am extremely proud of all the students for their dedication and professionalism in producing and directing every aspect on the Kickstarter video. A great promotion idea, a worthy cause and a great way to help them get noticed – I’m looking forward to seeing the pledges roll in”.
Pledges will be rewarded with a thank you gift for their generosity. The pledges can be anything from a £3 – £150 contribution.
Rachel Cornforth, a final year fashion promotion student, told Pluto:
“As new graduates, our graduate brochure is such an important part of our progression into the highly competitive fashion industry we all love. We need to stand out at graduate fashion week and we want to showcase our skills and expertise in the best way possible and with this brochure we are sure to turn heads in the industry. However without the support from our crowd funding campaign that simply won’t be possible!”
