The Sport Development Committee is a group of elected students who represent their area.
The body is made up several representatives, including two for indoor sports, two for field sports, one for martial arts and one for outdoor pursuits.
Tom Daly, UCLan’s Activities and Participation Officer told Pluto he thinks the body will give an equal voice to all sports clubs.
“It has been set up to give all clubs an equal say in what happens, rather than the bigger clubs dominating the agenda.
“The Sport Development Committee can shape the future of sports here at university by everyone having an equal say and clubs keeping in touch with their clubs they represent.
“It has a chance to bring clubs together to work as well.
The Committee has been place this year and this week will see the handover to a new group of students.
