With Valentine’s Day just round the corner, you may be wondering where to take your other half on the most romantic day of the year. Fear not, as Georgia Macey has compiled the ultimate list of destinations to spend V Day in Preston.

Cafe Bar, Winckley Street

Cafe Bar has a romantic atmosphere, with fairy lights giving it a cosy touch, which is great for setting the mood on Valentine’s Day.  They offer a great selection of wine and tasty deserts. It is a little out of a typical student’s budget but the food is freshly made each day and the portions sizes are definitely filling.

Turtle bay, Birley Street

Turtle Bay offers a Valentines menu with four courses for £24, along with 2-4-1 cocktails from 11.30-7pm (if you’re starting early) and 10pm – close. The menu includes the finest Caribbean cuisine to test your taste buds.

Ribble Pilot, Brewery Road

The Ribble Pilot is located on the docklands which is lit up at night making it look pretty and picturesque.  It is also within a student’s budget and always has offers on. The Valentine’s Day menu offers two courses for £25 or three courses for £30 with both including a glass of prosecco. This offer is on from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th from 5pm.

Odeon, Port Way Road

If you’re a film fan, there is a big range of new releases with genres to suit anyone’s taste.  From Drama to Adventure here are a few releases that will be popular for Valentines weekend:  Airlift (drama/thriller), Capture the flag (Animation/Adventure), Dirty grandpa (comedy), Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 (comedy), Our brand is crisis (comedy/ drama), Ride along 2 (comedy/action), The 5th Wave (Adventure/Thriller), The assassin (drama) and The big short (drama) – which is an nominated film. As well as new films there are also special offers on food and drink.

Mundos Tapas, Guild Hall Arcade

Mundo Tapas offers a chilled out vibe with worldwide tapas. It is a great place to relax and enjoy trying different dishes. They serve food until 11pm so you can take your time and spend the whole evening there if you wish to.

Olive Tree Brasserie, Church Street

If you want to push the boat out and get your best outfit on, Olive Tree is a perfect place to be for a classy date. They do offer 10% discount for students and their valentines menu is full of the finest Greek Mediterranean cuisine.

Tree house, Fox Street

Tree house is a stylish and elegant bar with a quirky vibe serving the best fruit inspired cocktails. They even have one named Valentine Martini just right for the occasion.

Pizza Express, Winckley Street

If you’re pizza lovers then Pizza Express is definitely the one for you. This year they are holding a competition, whoever comes up with the best poem about how much they love pizza wins a £50 Pizza Express gift card, which means you and your partner can enjoy your favourite food for free.
