Happy Star Wars Day! 10 Things You Didn’t Know About Star Wars!

In honour of Star Wars day, here are 10 things you might not have known already about the film!

  1. Many buildings that were built for the shots used on Tatooine are still standing today in Tunisia and are even still used by locals who live there.
  2. The lightsaber Luke used in Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi was originally going to be blue to match the one he previously lost, but George Lucas thought it would confuse fans and opted for a green one instead.
  3. While filming, Ewan McGregor kept on making lightsaber noises while filming fight scenes, which had to be removed during post-production.
  4. T’s species are part of the Universe. They can be seen in the Galactic Senate.
  5. “I have a bad feeling about this” is a phrase used in every film.
  6. TIE Fighter Engine sounds are actually elephant calls mixed with cars driving on wet ground.
  7. Luke Skywalker was originally going to be called Luke Starkiller, and remained that way up until shooting.
  8. The actor Mark Hamill was in a serious car accident which left his face in a state of trauma, during the scene where his is attacked by a Wampa, this was taken into account for the scarring on his face.
  9. Return of the Jedi was originally named Revenge of the Jedi, posters and other forms of advertising featured this title.
  10. Actors Anthony Daniels and Ahmed Best, who played the characters C-3PO and Jar Jar Binks, appeared out of character in a few scenes during the films.
