Islamic Society Eid Dinner

UCLan’s Islamic Society (ISoc) held a dinner in celebration of Eid al-Adha this week in the Atrium of the Students’ Union.

The event included singing, some stand up from comedian Bilal Zafar, and a charity auction, which raised £400.

Yousuf Bhikha, President & head brother of ISoc said: “Tickets sales have been brilliant and sold more than originally planned. Everyone attending have be fantastic and the volunteers have been fabulous.”

This is the society’s second event of the year, only two months into the academic calender.

“I think ISoc hold some of the best events in the student union” Said Campaigns Officer Lucy Haigh.

Vice Head Sister of the society Anam Riaz added: “It’s been really nice and refreshing seeing so many different people at the event. The whole idea is to get everyone united and this is what the event was about and has done, which is brilliant!”

  1. What a brilliant evening!

One of the best events to date for the ISoc,

Thank you to all those who helped organise the event.

The Quran Recitation at the beginning was of Surah Rahman – one of my favourite verses of the Quran and the child who recited it was exceptional
