The Students’ Union are looking for NUS delegates to go to the National Union of Students conference, there are seven places available. Not only this, but they are also looking for a transgender representative to represent other Trans students across campus, this is a brand new position as a result of the Union’s recent democratic review. Finally, the Union is also holding elections for School Presidents of the following new Schools:

  • The Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching
  • School of Community Health and Midwifery
  • School of Health Sciences
  • School of Sport and Wellbeing
  • School of Medicine
  • School of Dentistry
  • School of Engineering

So if you feel like you are a future leader of the Union, NUS, or country then the Union is encouraging students to be part of the election.

The Union states that “It is important to us that everything we do is decided by you” and value that students get your voice heard, even if you don’t run as a candidate then why not support someone else.

Student Union President, Josie Linsel, reinforced the importance of student voice by stating, “Students should vote for who represents them at national conference as they have a direct effect on NUS and therefore the Students’ Union, they should also nominate themselves to be those people!”

Application forms will be available on the Students’ Union website at
