After several years of closures and re-opening, MACs bar on Preston High Street is closed for good.
In a statement owner Andy Mac said: “Unfortunately MACs Preston will not be opening again. I am more gutted for the staff, customers & everyone that has played a part in Macs.
I am personally relieved as it’s been an ongoing stress for years & it’s hard to admit to everyone including myself that my passion for the venue died a few years ago.
I used to be inseparable with the place, and you would without a doubt catch me in there every week buzzing. That’s not been the case for a very long time.
I love promotions and events and So I’ll be focusing my attention to YBD. It’s about time I got out there again doing what I love.
A big thank you to everyone that has supported my venue and I over the years. Special thank you to the negative people out there and the few that spread the rumours about me & the club. If it wasn’t for you guys, I would be heartbroken at the thought of Macs closing.
Best of luck to every other venue in Preston. Preston needs you guys!”
Controversy surrounding underage people, drug taking, and antisocial behaviour from some customers plagued the business for the past few years and on September 15 it was announced that the club would be closing its doors for good, with Mac pursuing other endevours.
