MACs Bar is to re-open on Saturday even though the premises licence has been revoked.
This week Preston Council announced the decision to revoke the licence from MACs Bar, but with owner Andy Mac deciding to fight the decision he has announced the club will re-open on Saturday night.
Last month the bar was nearly closed down until Andy Mac won an appeal against the closure in the Crown Court.
Andy Mac said: “Following the successful appeal of the closure order we are legally entitled to open.
“We are also legally entitled to open pending the outcome of an appeal of the review and that is what we are going to do on Saturday night.
“We would ask all customers to take note of the ID policy of ‘no ID no entry’ and ask them to disperse from Friargate at the end of the night, in order to assist Macs in achieving the licensing objectives.”
Preston council is still yet to release their explanation as to why they decided to revoke Macs Bar’s licence – despite the explanation expected on Thursday 23rd July.
