Tonight, PNE travel to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest in the Championship.

A goal inside the 2nd minute from Eoin Doyle was enough to secure all three points in the reverse fixture between these two sides in November last year.

Forest have lost their last four league matches, most recently suffering a 1-0 defeat away to Ipswich Town.

Meanwhile, there was nothing to choose between PNE and Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, both sides playing out a goalless draw for the second time this season.

PNE manager Simon Grayson believes Nottingham Forest will also have every intention of reaching the play-offs and it will be a difficult match.

He added that everyone is in “good spirts” after Saturday’s result and that three points is the only result they want.

After a narrow 1-0 defeat to Ipswich Town at the weekend, Forest manager Dougie Freedman thinks his side are more than capable of a response against North End.

Freedman added that they created plenty of opportunities on Saturday and that if they play like that tonight, they have a good chance of claiming victory.

Onto team news and Neil Kilkenny, who was absent from Saturday’s squad with a slight niggle could also miss out during tonight’s match.

Goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has recovered from a stomach bug and will be battling with Chris Kirkland to regain his place in the starting line-up.

Jermaine Beckford, who has been out for several months, is back in light, non-contact training, but will not play any part for North End the next few weeks.

As for Forest, midfielder Jamie Ward will be missing for tonight’s match at the City Ground after picking up a hamstring injury against Bristol City a couple of weeks ago.

PNE could close the gap between the play-offs to three points if they claim victory in Nottinghamshire, depending on how the teams above fare.

A win for Nottingham could see them jump four places into 11th and four points behind North End.
