Brentford are the visitors to Deepdale this Saturday as North End look to continue their unbeaten run in the league.
Three points for the Lilywhites would see them move into the top half of the table for the first time since the start of the season.
During the last meeting between the two sides, it was the Bees who emerged victorious, Lasse Vibe and Marco Djuricin scoring the goals to seal the win.
Fast forward four months and Dean Smith is the new manager – the former Walsall boss is the third coach to take charge at the Griffin Park club already this season.
A first home game in three weeks is something Preston North End manager Simon Grayson is relishing.
Grayson explained how his side, who have won their last two matches at home, are on the right track and have responded positively following the defeat to Brentford earlier in the season.
The Bees boss Smith has urged his players to take their chances and end a run of four straight defeats in all competitions.
Onto injury news, Captain Tom Clarke and Adam Reach will be assessed ahead of kick-off after both players pulled out with groin and knee injuries respectively, in the warm-up during the previous two matches.
Preston fans will have to wait a few weeks to see midfielder Liam Grimshaw make his debut, after he recently underwent a knee operation.
Grimshaw, who moved to the club from Manchester United earlier this week, joins the other players with long-term injuries including Jermaine Beckford, Chris Humphrey and Stevie May.
Preston currently find themselves sitting in 13th position, while Brentford occupy 11th place in the Championship.
