Preston maintained their unbeaten pre-season record with a victory over Scottish Premiership side Motherwell at Livingston.
Joe Garner put Preston in front inside 28 minutes, before Neil Kilkenny doubled PNE’s lead two minutes later, arrowing a shot into the top corner.
North End looked to be leaving Scotland with another clean sheet until Motherwell’s Louis Moult shot past Jamie Jones in the final minute.
Manager Simon Grayson said: “Overall it’s another pleasing workout for us. It’s nice to get goals and also defending well when we needed to.”
Motherwell had an early chance, Marvin Johnson running from his own half after Paul Gallagher had been dispossessed but his shot was hit straight at Jones.
Daniel Johnson was the first player to trouble Well’s Dan Twardzik when his 20-yard effort just cleared the cross bar.
As the game approached the half-hour mark, Preston scored two in quick succession establishing a commanding position against Ian Baraclough’s side.
Garner broke the deadlock after losing his marker before meeting Gallagher’s cross and steering a header past Twardzik, into the bottom corner.
Twardzik was powerless to stop Kilkenny doubling North End’s advantage, the former Bristol City man hitting a powerful right-foot shot from 20 yards into the top corner.
Johnson brought the best out of Jones in the 56th minute, the PNE keeper getting a strong hand to his powerful rising shot and turning it over the bar.
A few minutes later, Scott McDonald thought he had scored for the home side but the imperious Jones was there again, pushing his close-range effort against the post.
Jones pulled off another impressive save in the 68th minute, just getting fingertips to substitute Lionel Ainsworth’s swerving shot which looked certain to be heading for the top corner.
Jones looked to have kept yet another clean sheet until Louis Moult, who recently joined from Wrexham, ran clear before finally driving a shot past Jones.
