Callum Murphy scored a hat-trick to help the UCLan 2nd team to a dominant 6-0 victory over the Manchester Met 4ths.
Maddin, Gourley and Kelly also added their names onto the scoresheet in a superb 90-minute display from the team.
However, the game could have taken a different turn as less than a minute into the game, UCLan conceded a penalty but Lou McCarthy dived to his right and parried the ball away.
The deadlock was broken 10 minutes in.
A corner from Murphy found Chu at the far post who headed the ball across goal for Maddin to head into the top right corner.
30 minutes came around and UCLan scored two goals in as many minutes to take a 3-0 lead into half time.
The first was a Murphy free-kick from a tight angle. The shot/cross evaded everyone in the area and ended up in the far bottom corner.
Within two minutes of doubling their lead, UCLan scored again.
A driving run by Chu through midfield gave him the time and space to slot Gourley through who struck the ball under the keeper and between his legs.
UCLan were awarded a penalty on the 74th minute. Substitute George Kelly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner sending the Man Met goal-keeper the wrong way.
Soon after it was 5-0. A driven low cross into the area by Kelly found Murphy who timed his run perfectly to be able to curl the ball into the bottom left corner, leaving the opposition keeper flat footed.
Murphy sealed his hat-trick with UCLan’s second penalty of the game.
Kelly gave the ball to Murphy in an act of great sportsmanship to allow Murphy to seal his hat-trick as he coolly slotted the ball into the middle of the goal.
Speaking after the game Mark Richardson, the manager of the UCLan second team, said: “It was a brilliant performance from defence to attack. We kept the ball and most importantly moved it well. We played as a team and won as a team. We dominated the whole game.”
