The men’s basketball 2nd team lifted the Northern 4A title yesterday, after a comfortable win against the University of Liverpool 2nd team.

Victory against Liverpool ensured their 100% unbeaten record remained intact, previously winning their last six league fixtures.

After the match, UCLan captain Philip Moss was delighted for the team and said it was a special moment during his time with the club.

“I know a lot of guys, like myself, who have been here since the team’s first season three years ago so to get to this point it is amazing” he said. “Likewise for the newer players, we’re all elated.”

Moss continued by applauding the hard work and determination of everyone in the team, including the coaches.

“There are a lot of things that contribute to a team like ours, but the key would have to be the ethos we’ve created here.

“The coaches and players are all in it together wanting the same outcome, we work hard, have fun and care about each other on and off the court – that’s key to winning I think.
