In the early hours of Thursday, the 8th December, at approximately 5:15 AM, a 19-year-old male student from UCLan university, was confronted by a man wielding a machete.  The attack happened on Warwick Street in Preston town centre.  The man demanded that the student hand over his valuables.  Luckily the student managed to make his escape without handing any valuables over.

The attacker was described as a white male, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, with a skinny build, ginger stubble on his face, and wearing a black hoodie.  It is suspected that the man was with another man.

The Campus Cops are asking for students to be vigilant and to keep to the preferred routes when walking home.

The Police are appealing for any witness to the event to ring them and for anyone who may have subsequently overheard a conversation regarding the incident to call them on 101 quoting reference number SA1616473.
