Plans have been announced for the biggest night out ever in Preston. The event in question is the Prestfest Purple Party organised by the Preston Business District (BID). The party is scheduled to take place at the Flag market on Saturday, 30th January, and is billed to involve professional entertainment and a high profile headline performer. The organisers have shed little light on the upcoming event but have promised it will be spectacular.
The party will be a free ticket-only event taking place in the early evening to encourage people to experience the city’s night spots. BID manager Mark Whittle said, “We have something truly spectacular planned for this year’s Prestfest and although we don’t want to give too much away just yet, it really will be unmissable. The performers have been selected to ensure that we appeal to a broad audience.”
The Purple Party name derives from the city’s purple flag status of the last 5 years as the city provides a “safe, vibrant and inclusive night time experience.” Last year’s Prestfest took place on Halloween but has been moved to a later date this year, in an effort to boost the traditionally quiet post-Christmas period. Mr Whittle added, “This will be a flagship event for the city significantly promoting us as the best place to enjoy a night out in the county and we are urging everyone to join the party.”
