[REVIEW] Best Fake Smile – James Bay (Single)

Ashleigh Clarke

James Bay seems to be riding a roller-coaster of success as just when you think he’s reached the height of his debut, he drops another single for all of his lovely fans.

‘Best Fake Smile’ is the humble singer’s 5th single of his critically acclaimed album ‘Chaos and the Calm’. After receiving ‘Best British Male Solo Artist’ at this year’s Brit Awards, Bay has taken the music world by storm.

I’ve been a fan of him ever since I heard his album and this track is definitely my favourite overall. It kicks in straight away and keeps you captivated throughout. From the strong licks of his guitar to his punch driven vocals, it’s a definite success.

He also recently released a music video accompanying the song and if I had one word to describe it, I think it would be sweet. As the video focuses on a young boy obviously perusing his love for music, he’s showing the audience that no matter who you are, how old or where you’re from, music will always be there for you, no matter what.

I’ve yet to listen to a disappointing track from Bay, and I don’t think that will be happening any time soon.

What do you think of James Bay’s new track? Give it a listen below!
