Scam Artists Invade UCLan Campus

By Joe Young - Deputy Culture Editor

Vast numbers of scam artists have descended onto the UCLan Campus in Preston.

Students are approached by a man and two women claiming to represent a local beauty clinic, who harass students in purchasing ‘luxury pamper experiences’ for vast sums of money. These individuals are not permitted to be in University premises, and are believed to have carried out similar scams at other university campuses in the local area.

Despite what they may be telling students, their ‘offer’ is neither endorsed nor approved by the University, and you are advised to not hand over any money or give out any personal information, but to instead contact the 24/7 security team on 01772 892068.

Scam artists are not welcome at UCLan and we encourage every student to play their part in helping keep a safe environment for students.
