A UCLan Film and TV screenwriting graduate has been shortlisted for the Royal Television Society’s Student Television Awards.

Lauren Clark won the North West Prize earlier this year and is now nominated for the national award.

Her short film ‘L.A.Larry’ which is up for the award, is about a man who brings his ‘sunny outlook on life to the streets of Preston’.

The film was funded by UCLan. Bill McCoidand and Sarah Evans, Lauren’s lecturers helped arrange the trip to LA to help finish the film.

The winners will be announced  on the 5th June at the British Film Institute in Southbank, London. “I am looking forward to seeing the ceremony and seeing the other short films” she said.

Lauren is currently working on the Blackout Film project, which is a feature film to be set in Preston this summer. After she hopes to create another short film.
