We currently have vacancies for Student Trustees of the Union!

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who can help the Union make sure we ‘make life better for students’, develop our long term plans and achieve our aim of being an excellent students’ union. The Student Trustee vacancy is open to any current student of the University.

This role is a fascinating opportunity for anyone who wants to help improve the Union and University for students and make a contribution to student life.

In doing this you will gain experience of directing the work of the Union and play a leading role in an organisation that is run by students for students.

Student trustees will be confident and vocal member of the Students’ Union Trustee Board ensuring the Union works for students.

Key responsibilities:

  • Help set the direction of UCLan Students’ Union and keep us on course.
  • Share the legal responsibility for the leadership of a multi-million pound turnover charity

As a trustee, you will have opportunities to:

  • Make a lasting impact on a member led charitable organisation.
  • Work with a number of other highly skilled individuals including other students on the Board, External Trustees from a range of different backgrounds as well as the Chief Executive Officer.

Being a student trustee is a fantastic opportunity to work with the elected officers, external trustees and the Chief Exec to set the Strategy of the Union and have a role in scrutinising the Unions’ performance.

There will be a package of training to help contribute as a trustee and develop your understanding of governance. This will develop transferable skills and knowledge you can take to future work or voluntary roles.
