Student Union League Matches Postponed

By Karan Gadhia – Deputy Sports Editor

There will be no Student Union League (SUL) football matches taking place this Wednesday.

The matches were initially called off because there weren’t enough pitches available at the Sports Arena or Moor Park.

There was the possibility to play later in the week but because of the bad weather the matches will definitely not take place.

The SUL is a recreational football competition organised by the Student Union with two leagues: the Premiership and the Championship.

There is also a cup competition taking place alongside the leagues.

Carl Brown is the Getin2 Project Manager and looks after recreational sport at UCLan on behalf of the Student Union.

He talked about the SUL season so far and said: “It’s been good!”

He added: “In terms of membership we’ve added scenarios where if people were not members but they wanted to play the occasional game, they could pay £5 per game or £25 per semester.”
