Summer Fashion: A look for three different occasions

collage 1By Lucy Hill – Chief Lifestyle Reporter

Summer is the time to have fun and let your hair down, whether you are hitting the beach, rocking out at a festival or having a night out with your friends. Our Chief Lifestyle Reporter put together three different outfits for each occasion.

The Beach Look

Nothing says summer like a big, floppy hat.

I’ve always been a big fan of beachwear because you can get away with wearing casual, laid back clothes without the need to stress about matching shoes with bags, tops with jeans, et cetera, et cetera. Plus, no one really cares what you look like on the beach.

Here, I went for a nautical look with sandals and a floppy, straw hat.

Top tip: if you want something easy to slip on and off why not try layering? Thin, cotton tops work perfectly for layering and mixing and matching, but stick to neutral colours.collage 2

Blue and white striped top: £8.99, H&M  | Palm tree print vest top: £22, FatFace | Cropped Jeans: £18.99, New Look

Hat: £10, Matalan |Sandals: £15, New Look

The Festival Vibe

For a festival vibe, don’t be afraid to clash with accessories and colours. Festivals are the best excuse for clashing, so go wild. And don’t forget your wellies, the more vibrant the better!

Party Perfect

For a summer night out without the hassle, try creating your own DIY cocktail dress by throwing pieces together. This is the perfect look for going out with friends for a few drinks. For this outfit, I actually wore a skirt and a strapless top to create a dress look.
