Think Alternative. Think Indie. Think Different. A mixture of Florence and the Machines and Gabrielle Aplin, yeah that pretty much sums them up.
A four-piece band from sunny Australia formed in 2007. The new album excels from their first, ‘Prisoner’ (2011), keeping to the same style, but more adventurous and dynamic than before.
The album’s lead single, ‘The End’ seems to be more edgy, and the lead singer’s vocals cuts through the beats of the backing track with her unique raspy voice.
In some songs her voice mimics a similar but softer high-pitched tone to Kate Bush, especially noted in ‘All You Need’ and ‘Look of Love’.
As quoted to news.com.au, Hayley Mary said that this one is personal, and with creative lyrics matching perfectly to their backing tracks, this album is definitely worth a listen.
