UCLan is now providing it as a master’s course in Korean Dictators.
The £5,000 course will give students an idea of what life is like as a citizen of North Korea under the Kim Jong-un regime.
Students on the course will also be able to learn some of the Korean language.
Professor Smith, who is the course director believes that the people of North Korea are misunderstood and that the country has changed over the past 25 years.
In an interview with the Mirror she said: “Today no-one relies on the state for income, only on the market. So unlike North Korea up until the 1990’s, the population is relatively divorced from the state on a day to day level.”
The course is open for applications now. For more information visit: http://www.uclan.ac.uk/courses/ma_north_korean_studies.php
