A UCLan student has made it through to the finals of Miss Galaxy England.
Martha Ruberte, a 3rd year Music Practice student, will represent Preston at the national pageant next month.
Miss Galaxy is a national contest with ties to the Christie Cancer Charity and regional winners help to raise money for the fund whilst they hold the title.
Martha, who came to Preston from Latvia two years ago, said: “I am very excited to be a part of such an amazing event.
“I sent the information about myself and my photos to the judges several months ago and never thought that I can get to grand final.
“I have participated in Miss Internet Latvia a few years ago but this is my first pageant in the UK.”
Martha says that after singing, modelling is her favourite pastime.
The national final is set for February 8th at the Park Hall Hotel, Charnock Richard.
“It is less than month left to grand final, so I am little bit nervous,” said the 21-year-old, “but I am also extremely excited to be a part of Miss Galaxy England and I can’t wait to meet everybody.”
The excitement for the overall winner doesn’t stop at Miss Galaxy UK, they will then travel to the USA this summer to compete in the international final against people from around the world.
“The international final is a once in a lifetime opportunity and will be a truly amazing experience and in the past the UK finalists have enjoyed some amazing success at the Galaxy International Pageant.” She said.
