UCLan has been ranked in the top 3.8% of universities worldwide.
The Centre for World University Rankings 2015 (CWUR) has produced their latest international figures and UCLan is number 939 out of over 25,000 other universities.
The university was highly rated in the ‘Quality of Faculty’ category. This measures the number of staff who have won major international awards, prizes, and medals.
UCLan also received a high ranking in the ‘Quality of Education’ section, which is measured by the number of a University’s alumni who have won major international awards, prizes, and medals in relation to the size of the university.
The University was also praised for its alumni employment and the number of highly-cited research papers.
Professor Gai Murphy, UCLan Pro Vice-Chancellor said: “It’s great news for the University that we’ve broken into this list for the first time. It’s a fantastic achievement to be among the world’s top higher education institutions and one we’re very proud of.
“This rating not only highlights the steps we’ve made in providing all our students with real-world learning experiences but it reflects the opportunities that are available to all our academics.”
