Urgent Appeal for Witnesses after Attack on Student

Preston Police have issued an appeal after a student was viciously attacked in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The attack which happened around 4.15am on Saturday 16th January occurred in the Cheapside area of Preston, near the Flag Market.

The 22 year old student from Preston was taken to Royal Preston Hospital and has been treated for facial fractures, as well as suffering bruising to the face, head and body.

Detective Constable Corina Barton said “This was a nasty attack on someone simply trying to enjoy a night out.”

Four men – aged 21, 19, 18 and 18 – who have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent have been released on bail.

“The victim received serious injuries as a result of the attack and we are appealing to anybody who saw it to contact us.” said Detective Constable Corina Barton of Preston Police.

It is unknown as to if the victim attends UCLan, however police are looking for witnesses to come forward.
